On the heels of her victory abroad, Ms. Eden returned home for her Washington National Opera debut as the Confidant in Strauss’ Elektra.

Ms. Eden has been receiving awards, honors and distinction for her singing since her college years at the University of Maryland. While a student, she was the recipient of the Creative and Performing Arts full tuition scholarship, won first place (as a sophomore) in the school’s coveted Homer Ulrich Soloist Competition, and completed degrees in both vocal and piano performance. As an apprentice artist at the Bay View Music Festival in Michigan, she played Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte, and won first prize in the festival’s annual Adrian Boyer Competition. Audiences and critics alike have especially praised Ms. Eden for her ability to deftly and sincerely communicate both music and text. The Washington Post hailed, “From her first note, Eden displayed a warm velvety tone and a dignified presence. . . the sheer beauty of Eden’s sound would have been enough for a satisfying performance. . . Phrases like ‘the night is clinging’ and ‘we will descend quietly and slowly’ showcased her talents for communicating imagery and her thrilling dynamic facility.”
Among her engagements for the season, Ms. Eden is reunited with her Impressions of Pelleas cast mates, Kenneth Gayle and Nathan Wentworth, for a True Blood inspired production of Le Villi with Opera Vivente, and will be featured in recitals both in Spokane, Washington and Albany, New York.
